Computer is not hibernating

bitlocker suspended: computer wont hibernate, bitlocker enabled: computer can hibernate, this is on Windows 7. If I suspend bitlocker and hibernate my computer it’s stays on with the screen blackened and never turns off, unless or until I hold the power button to initiate a apci forced shutdown . If I have bitlocker enabled it’ll hibernate successfully but then I’m stuck with the Resuming Windows screen or it takes a while to resume, I also have Windows 10, and it is able to hibernate windows and resume with no issues whether it is bitlocker enabled or not.
