Configuring Updates stuck on 13% on windows 8

Hi Guys,

I have upgraded my Lenovo Desktop Pc from windows 7 Pro to Windows 8 Pro which worked without any issue for couple of days. But it all went wrong after downloading and installing the new updates. I restarted the PC and it got stuck on configuring updates on 13%. I waited for half an hour, PC restarted and stuck again on 13%.

To try to troubleshoot the issue. I turned it off and then press shift+F8 and did the system restore from advanced option and it worked. I ran Windows update troubleshooter which showed me that problem has been found but its been fixed and the problem was with "potential windows update database error detected 0*80070490".

I checked for the updates again, downloaded and installed them then restarted the machine with a hope that updates will be configured without any issue but encountered the same problem. I am continuously trying to find the solution for it and any help will be appreciated. Thanks
