Can't RDP from Win7 to Win8 using Microsoft Account?

I cannot use the Windows 7 Remote Desktop Client to connect to my Windows 8 Pro machine using a Microsoft account. It fails as if it's a bad password. I've tried multiple formats:me@email.com email.comme email.comme@email.com pcnameme@email.com etc. Interestingly it does work using Remote Desktop Connection Manager v2.2. I really want this to work as-is no third party clients. Any ideas?
