no sysnative in 64bit?

in the past with windows 7 I had to use the sysnative redirection (see: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa384187(VS.85).aspx ) to make some scripts work on 64bit OS versions.

while testing those same scripts on windows 8 64 bit, I noticed it did not recognise the sysnative anymore?

anyone found a workaround already?
