Games Freeze in Windows 8

Since upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 8, I'm having problems with the screen freezing during some of my games. The games are Windows 8 Compatible. Very frustrating, doesn't happen with all games, but games from several sites. This

never happened with Windows Vista. What can I do?
