My microphone would not work during a Zoom meeting. I could hear the person on the other end; she could not hear me. I tried recording my own voice but could not get it to play back. Looking in settings, I saw the mic was disabled, so I enabled it. No help. Using a Dell All-in-One desktop with an integrated web cam. Unplugged and replugged the machine; no help. I am currently forced to do one-one one Zoom meetings using Zoom for video and an iPhone for audio. DOes this sound like (shudder) a hardware problem? Should I buy an external mic? I use my laptop (HP Spectre model 14-eu0023dx) with a Razer Core v2 external graphics enclosure equipped with a AMD Vega 56 graphics card. When I connect the graphics card to this laptop and install the appropriate drivers I get repeated blue screen errors on boot. The error identifies RTKVHD64.sys and gives the error "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA". I cannot boot into windows with the graphics card connected once this error starts occurring. I would include a minidump, but for whatever reason they don't get created when this error occurs (perhaps because it occurs before Windows initializes?). View the full article

hi guys, my zbook laptop, which i bought refurbished a few years ago, came with Win11 and something like around 7TBW on the clock. Nothing much, but fairly used. Crystal Disk showed around 80%. Worked perfectly, until this day, i had woken it up from sleep, only for it to freeze, throw a BSOD, restart, but instead of booting, showed a message saying that its missing a device or smth. Tried retrying, it said its missing winload.efi. The disk wasnt accessible even from Debian. I have a program that runs my CPU water cooler and I want it to run on startup. I went through properties>compatibility>change settings for all users>run this program as an administrator.I also went in Task Scheduler and made a task for it to run with the highest privileges.When I restart my computer I still get the popup from UAC asking if I want to allow it. Ok, so I am not sure what happened to my computer, but in the last few months anything saved on my desktop is sluggish to work with or takes extra time to open. For example, if there is an image file like a .jpg on the desktop and I want to edit it, it takes several seconds to save it again. I can count to like 10 before it saves it. It's the same thing if I download something and I download it directly to the desktop or if I do a snipping tool save, I can count to 10 before the new file appears. Been happening since December. Clean windows install performed. Tested all hardware components multiple times with success each time. Updated to latest BIOS. By process of elimination, I upgraded to a new PSU with more wattage. Nothing has helped. Lowering the settings in the games helps reduce restarts but not completely.
