It is only 1 year old. And while playing a simple youtube video it slowed down to a crawl. I tried eliminating unnecessary programs. Suspending security and VPN. I tried two different internet connections. I went online to geek squad they did two tune ups. They can find nothing wrong. I ran a windows 7 version backup. It took 15 hours. After the latest update (Windows 11 Version 24H2 x64 (KB5050094) my CPU temperature has been higher while gaming. I only play Call of Duty: Black OPS 6 multiplayer. Before the update my CPU temperature was around 67-75 ºC while gaming and now it is 75-90 ºC . Idle temperature has remained the same though. It is around 35 ºC. My PC is about a month old so it is not a hardware issue. I turned off Processor Performance Boost Mode (I had to edit the registry editor to make the menu visible). I just redownloaded rust and ran fine for about an hour then it started crashing which a pop up saying Microsoft windows is not responding and then i cant alt f4 cant alt tab i cant do anything i have to hard shutdown from the case. Since I have installed windows 11, (yes I know I just installed it in November, I know I’m late), I have nothing but problems. Just updated to W11 25H2 update. What I immediately noticed was my RAM usage went up 2GB, I have 16GB RAM and I typically was using approx 5-6GB ram. Now the system is using 7-8 GB ram. That on top of the updated Office 365 both of these updates are using copilot which which just aggravates the issue. I've turned off Copilot since I don't like it anyway and don't use it. I've gone into task manager and turned off little used apps/programs that use memory. MS really needs to do something about this. Now I have to consider adding more memory.
