HI all, I had purchased windows 7 pc from India where win 8 upgrade option was available and, had registered for the same. Unfortunately I am currently in Tanzania where the same is not available. Can i surrender my win7 key, get it activated in a pc in India , purchase win 8 in India with my promo code and then reactivate in my own pc here? Will this work? I have Windows Vista Premium. The update of concern is Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Service Pack 4 (KB2463332) This started on December 5, 2012 and initially failed to install. Since that time it has repeatedly promoted me to install it. It has been installed "successfully" after each prompt, over 38 times, sometimes six or so a day. Should I continually install it - ignore it or is there a way to stop this? Since this started when I start my computer it goes through a series of mini dumps - as many as eight times which began at the time of these many installations. I use McAfee for my antivirus program. I have a new Dell laptop but which was the show computer in John Lewis. It does not seem to connect to the wireless router, or if it does it is very tempermental. Often, even if my laptop tries to search for the wireless connection, the router will then shut down and has to be rebooted. Troubleshooting the problem suggests that the' Intel Wireless adapter cannot be found' or that the 'wireless network cannot be found'. We have a very small company with only about 10 computers. Recently one of our employees left. We now have a computer with all of their information on it along with programs such as MS Office. We would like to clean it up before we turn it over to a new employee. What is the best way to go about deleting that user and all of their files without deleting the programs or reinstalling the OS? Is it as simple as creating a new user and then deleting the other? Will that remove all of the original persons files, but leave all the programs? View the thread

After reinstalling an original Windows XP Prof w/IE6 I can no longer update IE or Service Packs... The installs error out during the install process. What is going on with the updates? Can stand the new Windows Update interface. Can't find the links and not even sure if the ones I am finding are correct. I installed it a few times over the years and updated without issue....now problems. Window's update KB2742595 keep's popping up as an available, important update. I download it and when it tries to install, it gives an installition error Windowsupdate_800B010B and Windowsupdate_dt000? Is there a fix for this, or can I just ignore the update for now? My problem started when I have noticed that updates are not running automatically or manually shows error. I searched on Microsoft websites &amp applied kb947821. after applying hotfix kb947821 my old list of update is not seen. after installing this patch my windows update started functioning ok but shows only latest updates. i am using win7HB. kindly tell me what should i do for old updates to be visible in update history. I have purchased the Windows 8 upgrade from a retailer on the day it was released to the public and installed the 32 bit version onto my laptop which was running Windows Vista 32 bit at the time. My question is can I upgrade my Windows 8 to the 64 bit version without uninstalling the 32 bit software ? My laptop has an x64 based dual core processor running at 2.16 Ghz and 2 GB of RAM. I have received an error where it states that your PC needs to be restarted and it needs to gather error info and will be restarted automatically. It will not restart and I have to hard reset it. It also says I may look online for more info about this error code: 0x0000031a a quick google resulted in no related info Any thoughts on the cause? View the full article

Hi Hi When I click add roles and features in Windows 8. I am receiving the error &quotserver manager is collecting inventory data. If servers are found that support remote installation or removal of roles and features, the wizard will be available after data collection finishes. Running W7 Home Trying to fix my younger brothers laptop CMD prompt keeps opening in the background forcing anything to be minimized, this only happened after he let the power die whist windows was updating on the turn off screen. To try resolve the issue ive been trying to run windows update ( both through the program and online), neither is working. The link to the program ( on the laptop) is a dead link, once clicked nothing happens. Also when i try and get it though control panel same fault. Mit Systemwiederherstellung habe das System zurückgesetzt weil ich vermutete dass eine Installation schuld ist. Leider nicht Die Windowsgültigkeitsprüfung habe ich nach 2 Stunden abgebrochen, da es dort heißt diese kann einige Minuten dauern. Wie lang dauert diese?
