I cannot install in W8 the "Broadcom Corporation driver update for Broadcom 2070 Bluetooth" I always get the error no 80070005 and a failure message. How can I do this update successfully? W8 IE10 in use without a touch screen. View this thread

Cannot create "new folders" . Have seen others having same issue no solutions yet any ideas what could be the issue? Following the update I get the error message: "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" on all page requests. If I restore to a point prior to the Update everything works again. Then the next day the automatic update comes down again and I am back to the error message. Then I restore to that same point and I am OK. View this thread

I have a nine-month old HP pavilion PC running Windows 7 (64) and have been unable to install Update KB2769369 having an error code of 80073712. I have been in touch with the support people at my PC supplier and they instructed me on what to do and when this was completed they said they had solved the problem but I am still getting this error code on this update. I used the internet to search for solutions and have run the System Update Readiness Tool (Hotfix 947821), Microsoft Fixit, and installed Intel RST driver, none of which has worked. Please don't tell me to put the Windows installation disk in to repair Windows because, like most suppliers these days, no disc was provided with the PC. I immediately did a set of recovery discs when I received the computer but have no idea how to access the windows installation disk on these four recovery discs. Not only do I have this error but my PC says it has never installed any updates, despite the fact that I have installed over 140 since I had the computer. I have just been called by what sounded like an overeas technical firm claiming that my computer has not been receiving automatic updates. This sounded like a scam so I put the phone down. Anyone else had a similar experience? I note that my computer has indeed not received an update since 24th April but that it was checked this morning and indicates that there are no new updates available at this time. I am puzzled. I have never had this before. Has anyone else had a similar call? View this thread

I am updating from a clean re-install of Windows Vista Home Premium. I downloaded and installed the update readiness tool and tried the Windows automatic troubleshooter. However, Windows doesn't recognise the Automatic Troubleshooter. It doesn't know which program created the Diag.cab file and so can't open it. Going on line to find the program was also unsuccessful. Update versions 9.0.4 (KB2618444)Whenever I run Windows Update, it offers me:"Windows Internet Explorer 9 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems". (36.7MB)I am also offered:"Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems" (69.1MB)If I try to install IE9, it fails, with the error: Code 9C48: Windows Update encountered an unknown error.If I try to install IE10 instead, it also fails, with the error: Code 9C59: Windows Update encountered an unknown error.I have tried running SFC /scannow, but it finds no errors that it believes need to be corrected.I have cleaned and optimised the registry, removed internet cache, ran malware scans and anti virus scans.I have also tried uninstalling IE9 via the uninstall method through the control panel -&gt programs and featured -&gt installed updates, but it fails, saying: Windows Update: An Error has occurred. I created a bat file which I successfully got to run via Windows Task Scheduler. Now I wish to remove the task from the scheduler. When I go to Task Scheduler I see the task, but when I right-click on it, no options come up. I thought I would see a Delete option appear. View the thread
