I believe it disappeared after a windows automatic update? All I know is that I now have a desktop gadget gallery that I never had before and my calculator disappeared. Contacting Dell would not be helpful. I believe I should at least have some type of FREE calculator on this system and that Windows should provide it. View the thread

when changing from vista to windows 7, what is the best way to remove the stuff you want to keep ? do I have to go through every folder on the computer ? the soft ware I have disc for I can just un-install, but the soft ware I bought and downloaded is what I am concerned about. I know most od the time I downloaded to my download file, the when it was 'runned' it went to programs, do I have to get both parts ? or can I just get the original download ? how is the best way to keep music, videos, pictures and soft ware, so I don't loose it when I do the clean install ? also, I installed vista a couple times with out problems, is seven just as easy or is it harder ? thanks View the thread

I get this message everytime I get an email with a link and then can't go to the link. This happens on any email I get . Just get the message. I am running Vista. I am trying to cut and paste to a document. I highlight the information I want to copy, open the microsoft word processor blank document page. I recently reinstalled Windows 7. Windows Update hangs while downloading updates. The progress bar is pulsing, and there are no error messages, but it says "Downloading 17 updates (0 KB total, 0% complete)" and does not move. I have tried the MrFixIt tool at http://support.microsoft.com/mats/windows_update/ but it also stops and says "Checking for updates online..." and does not progress. I have disabled my firewall and my antivirus (Microsoft Security Essentials) and that did not help. What should I do? View the thread

I have an older desktop PC running WinXP that crashed. I had 2 - 320GB hard drives. I have mounted the drives in an external enclosure, but can't get onto the drives with a new core i7 desktop running Win7. I don't see the drive when I try to access them through 'my computer', but when I run 'Computer Management' and then 'Disk Management', the console SEES the drive and gives this info: It shows as a volume with no drive letter - only as 'Disk 10' Layout: Simple Type: Basic File System: none shown Status: Healthy (Active, Primary Partition) Capacity: 298.09 GB Free Space: 298.09 % Free: 100% Fault Tolerance: No Overhead: 0% It is shown as being 'Online' There IS data on the disk even though it shows 100% empty.....so what does that indicate? If I right click on the drive, ONLY the 'Delete Volume: and 'Help' are active - everything else is greyed out so I can 't change anything. So, help would sincerely be appreciated. View the thread
