MS and HP want you to buy a new printer. Do yourself a favor and use

Ubuntu. It's free and has no problems with HP printers. All you need to

do is connect the printer to your computer and Ubuntu will automagically

install the drivers. Check it out at http://www.ubuntu.com/

What a fucking asshole you are. He can go to the HP site to download

Windows 7 drivers. Why would he want to ditch all his software to run an

INFERIOR OS that is riddled with cryptic commands and Open Sores software

programs technically dated about 10 years behind the times? You really are

a DUMB FUCK.

Do you even know how stupid that sounds? So you are saying that ditch

windows and install that SHITTY Ubuntu because he hasn't been to the HP site

where the drivers are? You really are fucked up.

Hey shit-for-brains: If he ditched Windows for that INFERIOR Ubuntu, then

his software is useless isn't it? Oops.

No translation needed. I ran that shitty Ubuntu and it sucked. Microsoft

applications have many more features than those inferior Open Sores

applications so if I can run the complicated ones, I sure ass hell can run

the INFERIOR ones but choose not to. Got it? Probably not.

I get enjoyment out of you being such a douche bag with your head in the

sand. Just the FACT that Ubuntu has been around for years and Ubuntu is

Doesn't really matter if I think it's superior or inferior. I am happy with

the fact that Ubuntu after all these years is still a failure. I know it

drives you nuts and that makes my day!

What utter drivel. As I had previously noted Ubuntu doesn't have a

clue when it comes to the more modern Canon printers. alias' response

was that "he didn't use canon". Now he implies Ubuntu, which he

previously admitted wouldn't "connect" to any printer, will connect.

As some wise man said, "the problem with lying is that you need such a

Ubuntu. BTW, you and facts, as has already been established, is an oxymoron.

Going from zero users to around 12 million is your idea of failure?

Being praised in all the computer periodicals is your idea of failure?

Being available preinstalled and on display in computer stores is your

idea of failure?

Wrong. Canon has decided not to supply the drives. That is Canon's

fault, not Ubuntu.

Huh? I never admitted that Ubuntu can't "connect" to a printer, just not

Canon.

>Ubuntu. BTW, you and facts, as has already been established, is an oxymoron.

Well, since you introduced the subject.

I wasn't going to mention it but I do read quite a few of the Linux

Newsgroups and it is quite noticeable that while the majority of the

sites are concerned with solving various Linux problems the Ubuntu

site, specifically alt.os.linux.ubuntu, is full of wild eyed fanatics

who spend the majority of their time shouting "Windroid" at each

other.

Apparently this frenzy to prove that the Brown Disk Distro is best,

best, best, goes with the system.

Of course, one of the Linux magazines picked Ubuntu as the Newbee's

friend, so perhaps this is simply an example of how the more immature

computer users act.

That is not exactly correct. When Ubuntu started they spent quite a

bit of time and effort to announce that Ubuntu was a distro based on

Debian, thus riding on the coattails of a well established distro.

And, it you remember version 1 it was a very thinly disguised copy of

debian.

In reference to Ubuntu's 12 million total copies since they started I

might point out that Microsoft released Windows 7 for consumer sales

in October 2009. In April MS announced that they had sold some 60

million copies and by 2nd May 2010 an additional 30 million, for a

total of 90 million copies sold. That is 30 million copies a month

which is a monthly sales of 250% of Ubuntu's total, lifetime, all

time, issues.

Not bad for a fifth rate operating system that everybody knows is no

good, isn't it alias?

Are you saying that Ubuntu, a Linux company and devotee of the

open-source philosophy is now willing to including preparatory Canon

driver code? sort of a rat leaving a sinking ship sort of philosophy,

wouldn't you say? And Canon turned them down, wouldn't giver them the

proprietary code either?

That really says something about what Canon thinks of the future of

Ubuntu, doesn't it. that one of the larger printer manufacturers

doesn't want to be associated with this fast moving, dynamic, software

house.

We are again treated to the lame boy's false logic that quantity means

quality. I've explained how this isn't a truism but the kid keeps

posting it again anyway.

Another example: Toyota sells a lot more cars than Rolls Royce does but

which one would you like to inherit?

Grasping straws again, eh? It's still Canon's fault, no matter how you

try to spin it to bolster your ill informed opinion about Ubuntu.

Alias' philosophy...everything should be free except for what little I

So, does this mean you want to pay for the air you breath or you'll get

a complex that people might think you're Open Source? How about sex? Do

you pay for that, whether you do it all by yourself or with others?
