With Vista, you get everything you got with XP, then you turn into various

I have or will have a sign on my door: Vista, "access denied"!!!

I figure it's bad enough I'm getting another system now (Dell) with WinXP!
(I figure almost had to, as OEMs like Dell are running out of time for that
option anymore, and most don't even offer it anymore).

My biggest fear at this point is: how on earth I'm gonna be able to do my
DOS-based recovery techniques should Windows ever really get screwed up.
And now having to depend on Dell's (somewhat limited) "restore" or
"recovery" disks, and their limitations. Egads... I don't like
being at the hands of the OEM, and their own strange disks and limited
techniques for this.

Hmmm. Maybe I should make it FAT32? Nah, better not... That's
probably being overly worried about this?

I've even thought of going out and buying the full WinXP Home from MS, so I
can do things my own way, and not have to depend on whatever Dell (or for
that matter, any other OEM), leaves me/us.

But maybe I'm worrying too much...

And using Google Groups, too, I'll bet. Why not use a REAL newsreader, like
Outlook Express, and access the group directly, instead of some third-party

You replied? I think we missed it. Why don't you try it again? And
get off of Vista, as that may be the source of the problem.

I see this one, (not the other)! And I knew you wouldn't ever overly
misinterpret my humor & kill-file me! You are too nice, Pebble. I'm sure
you even will give me half the presents people leave at your feet-- NOW
that you glow brighter than a lit Christmas tree!

| Has my brain been vistafied?

Maybe. But the other day my own posts didn't seem to get through,
either. They were there the next day. So, it could also be the site goes
down for maintenance occasionally. When it comes back up, the missing
posts may or may not show up. But it doesn't happen all that often! If
it happens to you 3 times in week, it more likely will be Vista brain
frying at fault-- yea!

It has to happen 3 times in one month for it to be a case of Vista brain
frying. But I agree it is very suspicious!
