HelloI am getting the following message CODE 8024800A Due to this error message my computer is unable to make any new window updates I went into the start menu and typed cmd and clicked on administrator and unfortunately I am only getting a black screen that says c windows system 32I even tried disabling the MCAfee firewall for a few minutes to see if this would clear the system to send the updates however did not work eitherPls advise how I can resolve this problemThank you View this thread

Hallo, Ich hatte vergessen meine Windows7 Version zu aktvieren und habe sie erst nach abgelaufener Zeit aktviert. Das Problem ist das sich das Windows Auto Update nicht mehr ausführen läßt. Ich habe schon Fix It probiert aber es hat keine Lösung des Problems gebracht. Wenn ich versuche Windows Updatz zu starten kommt die Meldung. Der Dienst wird nicht ausgeführt möglicherweise müßen sie neu starten. Wenn ich unter Verwaltung Dienste schaue steht der Start auf Automatisch und der Status ist gestartet. Gibt es eine Lösung? Dear Microsoft, Do bear in mind I am 68 years old, have Rheumatoid Arthritis and that I did not have computers from grades 1 through my B.A. in History. What little I know about computers I have had to learn by rote, because computer language IS a foreign language to me. Many instructions I get for doing downloads and upgrades are gibberish to me. I have been a wargamer since 1950 when I was five. That's a full decade before metal-cast, historically accurate, military miniatures were available in the U.S.A. coming mostly from the U.K., but now from everywhere! Along comes computer technology and quickly RTS military strategy and tactical games are available as CDs and downloads. I've been gaming "Age of Sail II" and "Age of Sail II: Privateer's Bounty" by Global Star Software and Talonsoft, the American marketers, and Akella, the Russian company that created the games around 2000-2003. I have always had video stability issues trying to use these games with my Windows XP system (Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, Home Edition, Version 2002, Service Pack 3. I'm also using an Intel ® Core ™ 2 Duo CPU, E 7300 @ 2.66 GHz and with 2.67 GHz, 1.99 GB of Ram). Do I enjoy naval games about the Age of Sail? I know more about the nomenclature and my way around a sailing vessel than I do about automobiles! I have been the winchman of a yacht racing crew, because I had the fastest hands. Now I have R.A., and have to write slow to be legable and have to be extra careful cooking, shaving and driving. I want to fix the video stability issues I have with these two programs in particular, since I enjoy them the most. As much as I have enjoyed all the Age of Empires games by Microsoft, none of the naval vessels in these programs move like real sailing ships under real sailing conditions with realistic sailing crews like these Russian made ones. There really isn't any excuse for this. Microsoft should at least be able to duplicate any Russian achievement in anything, if not surpass it. This oversight might just be a way of Microsoft condescending to the intelligence of their American customers. I challenge Microsoft to surpass these Russian made beauties, ie, allow me more latitude in the creation of a hypothetical sailing combat squadron and include the performance characteristics of Polynesian catamarans and the ability of schooners and fore and aft rigged vessels to sail closer to the eye of the wind that square riggers could and allow for square rigged ships to "lock in irons" much of the time, if they're dumb enough to try to tack instead of wear around! I am an old salt of the U.S. Navy, having served aboard the USS Charles F. Adams (DDG-2), that gave its name to the entire class of DDG Missile Destroyers. The Adams is also about to leave the mothball fleet in Philadelphia and be made into a floating museum in Jacksonville, Florida. The Hollywood movie, "The Bedford Incident" was shot using one of these DDGs as the Bedford. I had the honor to be part of a "crack" crew aboard the Adams and we raised the bar on anti-aircraft fire and shore bombardment standards. I was almost in a Bedford-style incident with a Russian nuclear sub in the Mediterranean in 1967. The Russians backed off or there would no longer be an Algiers, Palma, Majorca, or Marseilles, France and the rest of us would all be living in the conditions of the 19th Century, if not the Stone Age after WWIII was finished! I've tried to download Windows XP 9, but I don't even know how to see if it worked, but, for openers, I need the XP's best upgrade. Vista 32-bit, with AVG security, and using TDK DVD+RW. Tried to burn a file from within Media Player, got the message 'Error Code COOD10DA'. Downloaded and ran the Fixit utility, it said it had resolved a problem concerning 'media not being writable', then invited me to format a data disk. Came back with the message 'Unable to complete the format'. Can read disks OK. View this thread

For the past few days i have been having issues with my laptop running super slow. It will let me log into my account but then if i try to open some thing e.g. &quotmy computer&quot it will take about half an hour to load then if i press anything it will just say &quotnot responding&quot its the same with any other program. It even takes about an hour just to let me press the restart button. I have tried using the troubleshooting tools but they have not helped. I'm not sure if its because of a windows update or a virus. Noticed two updates ready for install on my ASUS RT this morning. The RT update went well, but the Office 2013 update failed. I opened the troubleshooter, which asked me to run as an administrator. I did that, the problem fixed answer came up and I attempted to reinstall. An update failure message came up and I ran the troubleshooter again. I rebooted, and then was able to install the Office update. However, this is now the only update showing on the update history, even when I click on show hidden updates....I've been vigilant in keeping current but am uncomfortable with being unable to access the full update history. Sir, I have Windows 7 home Basic. Unable to install windows update. ( error code 659 and 80070659.) Nor could I update any software. The message says" The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation" I have tried almost all available options . Windows" fix it " fixed some issues but not worked. Checked all online support. Even Windows Malicious software scan shows no infected files. I have Quick Heal Total security That also shows no infected files. Please help. Hi, I have found i do not get a reply unless it is a new question so as i am still having problems i will post again. I am having trouble with the following updates:- KB2726535- KB2758857Both packages fail even after trying several times with the Windows Updater I tried to download and install both manual with a clean boot option (i know you will try and suggest it if i don't tell you i have already done it) both at the end say that this update has not been installed. I tried to fix this by using the System File Checker, but that tool couldn't find anything wrong with the system.
