I've tried everything to install the captioned updates, including all the suggestions found on the forums. I've disabled my virus scanner. I've updated video drivers. I've disabled all the non-essential services and startup ****. I've tried safe mode (a couple flavors of it) I've tried the built in troubleshooter with admin rights, and it claims to fix corruption, but doesn't actually change any symptoms. I've made sure that it tried to re-download the files many times. I've tried to manually download the update and install it. I've probably tried other stuff etc etc. Windows update reports 0x80073718, which under the covers seems to imply that one of the files referred to in the patch doesn't exist, or something like that. I did notice one oddity, which is that HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionComponent Based ServicingVersion is pointing to %SystemRoot%winsxsamd64_microsoft-windows-servicingstack_31bf3856ad364e35_6.2.9200.16455_none_624a7aa150f57306, but I have an intel chip not an AMD. Don't know if that's related. I don't want to ignore this for two reasons: 1) at least two are security related. 2) It asks me to reboot my PC every two days to try and fail to install this. I have just completed a (stressful) reinstall of the above version of Windows and cannot complete the following 14 updates due to this error. OS updates KB2719857 KB2750841 KB2732487 KB2729094 OS Security updates KB2729452 KB2658846 KB2719985 KB2676562 KB2604115 KB2685939 KB2621440 KB2660649 Browser security updates KB2761465 All concurrent updates for MS Office work seamlessly. Around 70 other updates also installed seamlessly prior to this. I am concerned about the number of security updates I cannot install due to these two errors. I am presently downloading the System Update Readiness tool indicated at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821 for treatment of error 80070490. I am more concerned about 8E5E03FE however as this seems to be a rarer error. Any guidance on this error first and foremost would be welcome. View this thread

in the past with windows 7 I had to use the sysnative redirection (see: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa384187(VS.85).aspx ) to make some scripts work on 64bit OS versions. while testing those same scripts on windows 8 64 bit, I noticed it did not recognise the sysnative anymore? anyone found a workaround already? Hi There I have had my pc repaired and was told i would have to reload it using the disc supplied with the machine and putting the code in that is with it.I have done this and pc now works but after a few days it come up with this blue screen which i have never seen before telling there is a error as my software or hardware has been changed hope you can help me. One computer, running Vista, will connect to our wireless network, but will not connect to the Internet. Our other computer and phones connect to the network AND internet just fine. This seemed to happen after we switched to a new wireless router and I ran MSE and deleted some questionable things that it told me had issues. Please don't tell me to reset network adapter, that doesn't work. Please don't tell me to renew the IPC or whatever, that didn't work. Have I disabled or changed a "default" setting somewhere in WIN 7 Home Pro that would affect the sound from COD MW2, COD MW3, COD MW4 and MOH Warfighter?? It was working fine a few days ago, I must inadvertanly changed a setting that has affected the aforementioned. I feel like a newbie here, I have built 5 gaming computers in the last 14 years and I am "new" to WIN 7. Any suggestions? I thank you in advance for any assistance and attention to this issue. I just built this system:intel i5 quad core 3.4ghz 8gb corsair memory Evga gtx 660 superclocked 250gb seagate hard drive gigabyte d3h-z77 When I tried to iinstall windows 7 64 bit everything was fine unitil it randomly stopped and gave the error 0xc0000225.I really need help as I spent a lot of money on this system and it isnt working please help! I have a Tablet that was running windows 7 on the XSources Drive. My total drive size is 35 gig I have corrupted my drive trying to upgrade to windows 8. So I tried to reinstall windows 7 but I only have the option to install on a 4gig part of the SSD, I cant get to the 30 gig part. Now with diskpart I can only see Disk 0 with a size of 4 gig no other disks are available that I can see. with list partition, no partitions on this disklist. I'm at a loss as to what to do next, any help would be very welcome. View the thread

Running Win 7 32 Bit. Video card is NVidia GeForce 8300GS. NVidia driver was vers. 306.97. Everything was working fine. NVidia recently notified me of an update to vers. 310.70. Installed this update and the system began to freeze and drop to the evil blue screen. Reinstalled old 306.97 and everything was fine again. MS subsequently sent automatic update instructions to update to 310.70. Tried this update and the system would not accept the update. Error Code 80070103. I tried a 'Clean' update to 310.70 re-downloading that version fresh from NVidia but that resulted in the lock up problem again. Now I'm back to 306.97. Any ideas? View the thread

When opening my external drive the photos there will not open. Here is what i get. The version of this file is not compatible with Version of Window your running (had windows xp and with new computer it is now Windows 7) It then says Check computers system info. to see whether you need and x86(32bit) or x64(64 bit) version of the program.
