You mean like building a new machine from the ground up and seeing
"Vista certified" on the motherboard box and vendor's web site? Well,
that's the path I took and I still had/have endless headaches with
Vista none of which were my fault.

>Think about it: If you had troubles installing and running XP on your

You shouldn't jump to conclusions Don. I never had any issues with XP
when I install it years ago. None, nada on all my prior boxes.

As far as installing Vista, I was a good little boy and did all
Microsoft asked including running their moronic Vista upgrade advisor
which said everything was fine on a old box until of course I actually
started to install Vista on it then it started to nag and promptly
crashed during the install of Vista on my first try.

Microsoft has a HUGE creditability problem. They keep lying their ass
off things are "fine" when they're not.

>People like you are ALWAYS of the mindset that if Microsoft's OS does

All I ask of Microsoft is stopping selling consumers a line of
bullshit. I'm like millions of other pissed-off consumers that bought
the crap it was safe to upgrade to Vista. I bought only "vista
certified" components and in spite of it Microsoft dropped the ball
failing to work on components Microsoft says was "certified" for
Vista.

My issues deal mostly with INTERNAL Vista failings. You know... like
file handling and the hugely stupid and unnecessary UAC. What
unabashed Microsoft fans fail to understand and paint over is Vista
out of box even with SP1, long before you install ANY third party
software or any fancy hardware has all kinds of issues for SOME users.

My advice GROW UP and realize real people some with extensive
experience like me have REAL problems and the path why leads directly
to Microsoft's doorstep. Of course Microsoft fans never understand
that. This is the place to complain. You obviously prefer to firmly
hold your hands over your eyes pretending there's nothing wrong with
Vista at all. Pathetic.

MODERATE them, perhaps through rotational participation of volunteers.

How are you gonna moderate all the USENET servers across the world that
people access this group from?

No, that will only succeed in taking posts off Microsoft's servers and
will do nothing about the thousands of other servers, including Google
Groups.

Don't like a post? Use self control and don't read it or learn how to
use a kill file.

Yep, if people want to live in a glass bubble, it's up to them to build
it.

Some people don't like Free Speech, but that isn't anybody else's
problem, but their own.

Yeshua ben Yosef was supposed to have said, "And if thine eye offend
thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee," so why don't I see that many
blind Christians, since they seem to be the ones most offended by the
words of others?

I guess they found a way to say that the Bible in infallible and should
be taken literally, but hey, "Jaysus" was just joking about the eye
plucking thing. You know that "Jaysus," the Jerry Seinfeld of the first
century AD!

Not all "microsoft.public..." groups are as messed up as this one. I have
even got good advice from some of them. This group appears to be big and
unruly because of the amount of controversy associated with Vista. People
appear to love it or hate it. Those who love it clearly belong in some kind
of supervised care with a Nurse Ratched feeding them daily doses of
anti-psychotic medication. Those who hate it could benefit more from an
anti-anxiety drug like Xanax.

Cordialmente,

IF I could accurately know who you are, and accurately know your past
conduct, I could easily decide on and effect a rule to 'moderate' you. Here
we do not, and will never know those things.
If for some reason I made a rule to 'delete on server' all posts by
'x@invalid.li' and you knew I had done it, you would be here tomorrow under
the ID of 'x.invalid.li2', berating me for trying to censor you.

Anonymity is the scourge of conformity and control.

Freedom doesn't need to know anybody's name.

Authoritarianism needs to know everybody's name.

THEY are the ones who PRODUCE them, and the ones who write the

Why should Microsoft work on OEM device drivers? It's NOT their job

IF those users DID have problems, I suggest a few things to correct
them:
1) Go back to school, and learn a little about computer basics.
2) Stop using the devices YOU want to use, and use the ones Microsoft
recommends in its Vista HCL.
3) Stop trying to TWEAK the OS so much. Accept it as it is, warts and
all.
4) Stop your INCESSANT complaining, and LISTEN to true experts, rather
than hobbyists like yourselves. Remember, its VERY HARD to LISTEN,
when your MOUTH is running all the time.

A Wise man LISTENS, while a foolish man never stops complaining.

That statement shows your obvious bias against anyone who does not
share your opinion about Vista or Microsoft, friend.

1) You assume that I am a "Microsoft fan". This is NOT the case, as
an examination of my posts over the last several years will show you.
2) The "place to complain" is NOT in a peer-user group on the Usenet.
It is to MICROSOFT, Inc. itself. While a few Microsoft employees DO
visit these forums from time to time, they do so as PRIVATE CITIZENS,
and NOT as "official" representatives of Microsoft. Your complaints
are being LOST on a bunch of folks like yourself.
3) Something tells me that you weren't even born when I started using
computers. I doubt seriously whether you have the "extensive
experience" you are trying to characterize yourself as having, else
you wouldn't have the problems you claim to be having.
4) That these people are having problems I do not doubt. Vista is a
highly-complex OS, and NOT easily handled by people whose "extensive"
experience is mostly in using a computer at work, where any problems
with the machine are handled by an over-worked Tech support person.
5) Being a HOBBYIST does NOT make one a "highly-skilled" computer
operator. In fact, from my point of view, hobbyists are the ones who
have the LEAST amount of "extensive experience". It seem that THEY
are the ones who are complaining the loudest, and mostly because of
Microsoft's anti-piracy measures.

Microsoft Windows is the ONLY ubiquitous OS around, and has been since
Windows 3.11. Countless millions of copies of Windows have been
distributed since then, with the majority of Windows users extremely
happy with the OS. Why? Because of the EASE of installation of the
OS, as well as the ability of Windows to use a LARGE number of
devices, rather than a small superset, like in OS X.

You, friend, are certainly in the MINORITY of folks having problems,
since the MAJORITY of sales of Vista have been to very happy folks,
who've had FEW problems with the OS itself, and MORE than a few
problems with software and devices which WEREN'T ready for Vista, and
STILL aren't. This is NOT Microsoft's fault. That Microsoft is
accentuating the POSITIVES of its OS is just human, and nothing YOU
wouldn't do when trying to "make a sale".

If you don't like Windows, friend, go buy an Apple.

Something tells me, though, if you DO buy an Apple, you will be one of
the FEW who are complaining about it, just as you've been one of the
FEW complaining about Windows.

I don't post in Usenet.. and top posting is the normal and preferred method in
all MS newsgroups. But.. like I said, some are just too immature to understand
that, as you abundantly demonstrate.

BTW... even on Usenet, the standard (which is approved by Good Net-Keeping Seal
of Approval (GNKSA - see item 15 in posted url below) is to use a (two hyphens,
a space, and a return) signature delimiter so that newsgroup & email readers can
(if desired) automatically mark and remove the sig block in replies.

Yes.. you *can* can post here as much as your little heart desires - the
difference is that some have the maturity and intelligence to respect others,
and some don't.. :)

They're factual truths and everyone here know it.
Get some help...well...I doubt you're capable of admitting you need help.

Of course, Frank the Wank can't name one lie or show us one spam of
mine, much less prove I am a bigot. In addition, Frank the Wank keeps
claiming I'm a Mexican and therefore inferior. Frank the Wank is getting
famous for projecting.

No, they are not "factual truths" (didn't they teach you about
redundancy in school, Wank?).

No, it isn't. It's done by clueless idiots like you.

Oh, the holier than thou argument. Get off your high moral horse and
mingle with the common folk, willya?

And nuke everything else if you top post. Not good, chum.

Respect is earned, not a given.
