Re: I said this would happen a year and half ago.. lol>>> Vista is

Adam, Why do people hate Vista so much? What issues have you had with it? I
am not Microsoft fan I own both a HP laptop with Vista and a MacBook Pro
with Leopard. I like both they both have their good and bad points. Right
now I am hating installing SP1. But other than that I have had relatively
no problems with my Vista unit. I had to clean up all the crapware like on
any PC but it runs great and is much faster than my XP PC. I can honestly
say that I have had about the same amount of problems our of both my Leopard
and Vista units and they are about the same speed wise. I do not want to
call name or start a fight I am just curious as to what problems you had
with it.

Of course, how many were still roaring in these newsgroups about how
bad XP was, and how they swore by Win2k a year after XP's
introduction? How many still swear by Windows for Workgroups 3.22,
and complain about Windows 2.0?

Complainers are nothing new with the introduction of a new OS,
"alias", and you know it.

IN fact, we've both done our share of complaining about both XP and
Vista in the last few years. All of us do it. IN fact, it's our
right, just as complaining about the food or the drill-sargent's
stinky armpits are the perpetual rights of G.I.'s everywhere.

I will remind you of the words of an old man: " 'Bad, Bad', says the
buyer, but when he walks away with his purchase, he boasts of the
great deal he got."

Once we get started using an OS on a daily basis, all the warts start
looking like beauty marks instead. This is pretty-much true for ALL
OS's, and all people.

It's just human nature to complain. WE won't ever stop, since we are
never truly pleased.

I have seen many many many people say that they loved all microsoft releases
except Vista. Vista is the single most worst product microsoft has ever
made.
And this is something I agree with. I never complained about dos, win 3.1,
win95, win98, win2000, XP, windows2003. (Im leaving out windowsMe because I
didnt like it but I also didnt complain then).
In fact you could call me an MS fanboy before Vista!

But vista??? Vista is the epitome of stupidity and CRAP!!!

MS can take vista and shove it, the world doesnt want it, and whoever likes
it is stupid.

Uh yeah ...

Windows 95 and Windows 98 are dead. Who cares if people use them?

Plenty of people still use Amiga computers, they were fantastic in their
time - but now they're dead.

Linux has grown like a weed (other comparisons are also apt). Linux
penetration has increased 61% in one year, from 1.25 to 2.2% of desktops.

Here's one tabulation. As of eight weeks ago:

XP - 79%
Vista - 6%
Win2K - 3%
Linux - 2%
Win98 - 1%

[Mac and other MS systems omitted]

http://www.w3counter.com/globalstats.php?date=2008-02-29

However, in 2003, Siemans predicted Linux would garner 20% of the desktops
by 2008.
http://www.linux.com/articles/30873

Either the 0.61% hasn't changed or the reporting agency just puts this
month's date on the screen:

http://marketshare.hitslink.com/report.aspx?qprid=8

But the trend lines seem to be flat:

The sad part of this continued debate is that should Microsoft "rush" into a
new version, would you then complain that the released an untested version
as you have with Vista. With my computer club, and my home, Vista is a
roaring success.

About 25%, according to Google. But then, there were less computers total
than now. Vista has sold more copies in this time frame than XP did.

No, that number is brand new - March 2008 - same as the Vista number:

It's actually gone down from February and January.

Am I to take it from your spew that you are calling those like me
"stupid", simply because we like what you hate?

Perhap we should call you "stupid" because you hate something we like?

Or, perhaps I should call you "brain-dead", because you just used the
improper objective clause "single most worst" in the same sentence
together in a single breath to describe the same object.

"Single most" , or "singularly worst" I can accept. But not "single
most worst".
Think of it like this:

"single-most" has the same meaning as "worst". Would you say "worst
worst", or "single-most single-most"? Of course not. We would look
silly if we did, wouldn't we? Use one or the other, but not both, to
describe the same object.

This would be a better construction, don't you think:

"In fact, your abuse of the English language has caused me to think
that it was the 'single-most violent act' of literary abuse I've
encountered in a long, long time."

Even to THINK about the violence committed to the English language by
this construction causes me such consternation as to cause my mind to
be blown upward through the ceiling and into the atmosphere, where it
is dispersed abroad into the Seven Continents.

But, I will not, since such comments are inflammatory and demeaning.
They provide those like me with fodder for our imaginations to come up
with "inspirational" messages for folks like you.

Instead, let's learn to live and let live, OK?
Every cat has his own rat, Mate...

Re: I said this would happen a year and half ago.. lol>>> Someone here is brain dead.

You seem to think that everyone on the planet must know perfect English.

I say everyone should know perfect Swahili. Yes Swahili is the best language
in the whole wide world and if you don't know it, or even make some grammar
mistakes or abuse it, then you are stupid. If you type something that seems
strange to me in Swahili I will say that its the "worst most worst" abuse of
Swahili I have seen in a long time.

You seem to not know that the internet is a global thing, meaning that
people from all the world is using it.
Well that is the case, but you seem to demand that everyone must know
perfect English. Ok, sure, and I say you must know Swahili. Yeah Swahili is
nice, and if you don't know it you are stupid.
I say lets all start typing in Swahili and not English, and If I see a
mistake you make I will laugh.
English is a language of a MINORITY of the population of the world.
But since you like vista it doesn't surprise me that you have a closed mind.
A person with an open mind would say vista is crap.. lol. Thank you for
informing me of this mistake. I am learning constantly. But its funny that
most americans are totally incompetent in spelling and expression. Its not
the fact that you told me the mistake thats bad, but its the snobish style
you have....

but what do I expect? You are a vista luver... that explains everything. The
"single most worst" OS ever made.

Not Me

Re: I said this would happen a year and half ago.. lol>>> Someone here is brain dead.

Well, everyone has different tastes.
That is why some people drive Volvos, Chevys, Cadillacs, Mercedes, Fords and
even Kias.
That doesn't make any of them stupid for liking something different that you
or I do.
I don't happen to LIKE Vista, but that doesn't make those that do stupid.
To me Vista looks & feels like MS hired a bunch of laid off AOL programmers
and gave them free rein with it but some people like AOL too.

Rather than getting new machines, I installed Linux on 30 assorted P2-P3
machines that were running W98/ME, NT4, W2K.
For what we use them for, they work fine.
But I wouldn't want that setup on my personal PC.
The other 200+ machines use XP Pro.
I have no intention of getting the hardware necessary to run Vista anytime
soon.
The XP machines are stable & secure.
What is the point of spending the time and money to get new hardware and
retrain hundreds of users to get a marginal (at best) 'upgrade' to a new OS
that requires at least double the hardware of the existing systems, but
provides no needed functionality.

Re: I said this would happen a year and half ago.. lol>>> Someone here is brain dead.

when Hitler was in power, the number of Nazi was in a rise. Some didn't want
to be Nazi, but they had to adapt with what was going on around them. So
they did not exactly do this by true choice since they didn't even know the
"whole picture" of a Nazi was. Plus you might be killed if you denied being
one and supporting the Nazi party. Was this rise in Nazi numbers a true
indication of Nazi worth? Heck no....

Same with vista, people don't actually chose to get it, but its forced upon
them on new computers, and if they don't know the difference they may even
think its better than XP. This is very logical since we tend to think newer
must be better. But vista is crap, and those numbers say nothing.

Lets count the number of well informed pleased customers of vista.
I say that you will find only 10 people on the planet that like it and know
really what vista is.
I'm sure Bill Gates still has XP on his home computers, especially for his
kids, since they would be complaining that vista cant run half their games
well.

Like with the Nazis, people in the end rejected it and got rid of it, the
same will happen with vista. It stinks its stupid and whoever likes it is
stupid. Simple... its not a matter or taste... it is just too stupid and
bad, no excuses for liking it.

Re: I said this would happen a year and half ago.. lol>>> Someone here is brain dead.

liking or disliking vista is not a matter of simple choice.

Vista has nothing to do with taste. Its fundamentally so wrong that it
should have been banned.

Its so bad that it would be like you saying some people like to eat crap and
that's ok.
I would say a person eating crap has something very wrong with him and is
stupid.

Care to name an OS that has a 100% market share skippy? You smacktards never
fail to amaze. You pull crap out of thin air to support your contentions and
do nothing but make yourselves look more retarded. So using your standards,
how the hell do you explain that Linux does not even have a 1% market share
on the desktop after **15** years? Talk about a fatal flaw.
