  1. I am using an i5 9600 CPU on a gigabyte aorus pro wifi z390 motherboard. I recently updated (yesterday) to windows 11 and it has been a problem ever since. My machine will crash about every 15 minutes or so giving me a BSOD with differing issues, sometimes UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION, CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED, sometimes others I cant remember or keep track of them all.Ive tried running chkdsk and other cmd commands, again I cant recall everything Ive tried but anything that can run while the PC is running has come back with no errors, everytime I run something that will restart the PC including doView the full article
  2. I have tried setting the administrator account to active, I tried setting the registry key passwordless to 0 which enabled the option to try entering a password at the log in screen, but no password that I would have ever used worked... this once available option to enter a password has since disappeared... I also restored Windows from 2 previously saved backups, one was 1 day old the second attempt was 4 days old, but neither made a difference, all attempts have been fruitless. This has been the most anomalous experience I have ever had with Windows and the most perplexing, your help is most View the full article
  3. before i begin, let me apologize if i placed this in the wrong forum. there didn't seem to be a forum for 'repairs' that i could see, so i chose the closest, 'Recovery and Backup'. If there is a better forum, would a Mod please move it there for me?I just finished a system repair on my system after SFC told me that repairs were unable to be completed. I ended up having to download the .ISO for Windows 11 Professional 24H2 to act as a source for DISM to repair the issue. I know how to 'analyze' my cbs.log made by SFC, but I was wondering how to do the same with my DISM.log file. The repairs areView the full article

  5. I followed the advice to change the registry. "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies" and ensured the "WriteProtect" value is set to "1"I then insert my CompactFlash drive after double checking the value was set. Unfortunately, I can still copy and delete items from the device. I know this used to work to properly prevent any write activity. I tested on 3 separate computers and all are failing. 6. Recently my Windows 11 Dell has been acting up. Upon restart it acts normally, only requiring the pin to sign in. However, once the screen locks and I log back in, it asks for my email with password (or pin) for sign-in. This is not the end of the world, but it is slightly annoying. However, this is not the main issue; after it opens after requiring my email, it won't open certain apps from the start menu. The ones I have noticed are the snipping tool, outlook, and Teams never seem to open. Others, like File Explorer and Microsoft Store open inconsistently. I have tried to work around this andView the full article
  7. After updating windows, when I turn on my laptop it boots up normally, and everything is fine. However, when I log into my user, a couple seconds after it loads into the desktop it will bluescreen every single time. I went into the boot options after restarting and reverted the windows update, but now it only lasts 5-6 seconds longer than it did before, and then bluescreens. It works fine in safe mode, but I can't update my drivers or fix anything.View the full article

Computer: Dell Laptop (1 yr old)OS: Windows 11 ProWhen I use the Command Prompt "net localgroup administrators"I get the following screen display...Administratorsmlth_xxxxxx (axtual name hidden for privacy)I am in a jam without any admin rights. An issue that has been fully explored with Microsoft (3 sessions yesterday including one with Level 2) with the consensus being a recommendation of a clean install of Windows 11 when you have no admin rights.I am fine with a clean install. But I need admin rights first. A bit of a catch-22. (smile)But the only reason for my post is I am curious (sinceView the full article
  12. Hello. We have a program that cannot be installed on Windows 11, but it will work on 11 if you install on Windows 10, then upgrade it to 11. As a result, we cannot do a clean install of Windows 11. We have tried to run the upgrade through Windows Update, but the update disappears every time. When we try to do it through USB from either Rufus or Media Creation Tool, it gets to the blue installation screen, but it just goes away with a pop up that states Windows 11 Upgrade has failed. There is no error code. We have tried, booting into USB, but it seems Microsoft removed the option to upgrade thView the full article

  24. Hi there.I was about to upgrade my windows 10 to 11 so I did a Device Performance and Health Check to find out that " This PC doesn't currently meet Windows11 system requirements" and " TPM 2.0 must be supported and enabled on this PC."Did some research to find out if I can enable it through my UEFI BIOS Utility, and as far as I get my system doesn't support it.Please let me know what I should do. Is it possible to add a discrete TPM 2.0 chip to my motherboard??Sadly I can't insert a photo due to some unknown reasons...In BIOS there's no security settings page but In BIOS>>Boot>>View the full article
  25. Why has my PC (Windows 11) suddenly stopped being able to share its screen with my LG TV?What I've tried:Rebooting the TV.Rebooting the PC.Both PC and TV are on the same internet. The PC recognizes the TV and tries to connect. The TV will say it's trying to connect to my PC, and then a message comes up on the TV that it couldn't connect. My cell phone will connect to the TV.I contacted LG and they told me if the cell is connecting it's not the TV.Was there a Windows update that may have changed something on the PC to cause this issue?Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. Thank you.View the full article
