I have a key for the download. I just want to get the down load so I can upgrade to the windows 7 Pro from windows 7 basic that I just paid for. I can't believe it has to be this difficult. Why couldn't there have been a link on the email confirmation to download the program. View the thread

I have a new machine with windows 8 (64 bit) pro pre-installed. I am Unable to install windows update KB2756872 . Windows keeps reverting updates after attempted installation and all previously installed updates are removed. I have installed each update manually to determine that this update is the first on the list which wont install. Any advice appreciated View this thread

Windows Server 2008 R2 file server Network share for folder redirection users$ - permissions everybody with read and write Windows 7 Pro workstation. Just moved to a new workstation with a clean install of Windows 7 Pro. I can open files from network share \fileserverusers$userMy Documents but I cannot wite to this folder FROM THIS workstaion only. I can write to other folders under this share such as \fileserverUsers$userDesktop from this workstation. I can write to this folder logged on with the same AD credentials from any other workstation. I can write to this share from the new workstation if I use IP address (\ipaddressusers$userMy Documents). I can write to this folder if I create a new share name with the same share credentials. I checked Group Policy Results from this and another workstation and they are the same. What am I missing? View the full article

My computer is now up to FORTY updates that need to be installed. The major issue I am having is that they will all successfully install, but as soon as I restart my computer, all of them are uninstalled. Any suggestions for what may be wrong and how to fix it? Thank you. View this thread

i have an epson xp-400 series all in one printer and i have windows vista 32 byt. My laptop is a dell studio 1535 and i know it is able to print because my uncle who gave it to me was able to print off of it, and i also know my printer works because I just bought it and it prints off other computers. ive tried getting help from epson, staples, and microsoft support representatives over the phone and they tried things like uninstalling/reinstalling, resetting printer spooler, messing with administrative settings, installing updates and drivers but still my problem persists!! when i plug the printer into my laptop it recognizes it and an icon appears to notify me something is plugged in but when i try and print a test page or try to print anything else from the computer nothing happens. It will appear briefly in the documents pending folder but then disappears as if it were printed succesfully however the printer does nothing, it doesnt even make a sound. please help View this thread

Hi, Please, I need to know how can I extract my storaged emails in Windows Live Mail program to a DVD disc. I use to have Outlook Explorer for my emails and Outlook Express Mail Expert program to extract those emails onto a DVD disc, excellent Program. I inherited my mother-in-law's Lenovo tower on which she had Windows 7 Professional 32-bit installed under an OEM license. I have the product key. I am trying to change from 32-bit to 64-bit, still keeping Windows 7 Professional. I tried using slui.exe 4, but after entering the code was told it was invalid. Ran validation tool, validated my license, ran slui.exe 4 again and still invalid. Some info says to contact Microsoft, other info says I have to order recovery disk from manufacturer Lenovo. My computer is five years old. It has always played the MVI movies I take with my Canon camera. I performed a complete recovery on the computer. Now the windows will not play the MVI movies. f I assume there is some kind of download for this. {I have tried a couple of downloads from sites that were a type of scam. I can attach Word documents only from my files. When I try to attach a pdf or Excel document the screen tells me that the document is not in the file but I know it is because I put it there and can see it on my desktop. Does anyone have a clue what I can do about it? Ian View the full article

Recently I upgrade PC from Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 8 Pro. For the most part everything went well with the upgrade with some minor tweaks or upgrades to apps. I am having an issue with Libraries though. I have a share on my Server (Windows 2008 R2) which has Windows Search installed and indexing the shared folder location. On the windows 8 workstation I opened Explorer and when to libraries &gt Videos and then click on the Manage Tab. Selected Manage Library which brought up the Video Library Locations window. The Default save path is shown as well as the Public one. There is one other shown there but listed as unsupported. It is an old UNC path from years ago. I attempted to remove it. In the videos library locations window the path is removed. I hit Ok and it takes me back to explorer and the path still shows up there. If I click on Manage Library again to bring up the Video Library Locations window the unsupported path shows up again. I tried to ignore it and add the new library going through the steps to add it. Shows up in the library locations list but when I hit Ok it doesn't show up in explorer. Its as if when I hit Ok the settings are not saving. Wirrel View the full article

Have the one disk only that came with laptop (Dell Inspiron 1545) labeled &quotDrivers and Utilities already installed on your PC). I believe it may contain windows reinstall files but am unsure. When I load disk and boot up PC, no appropriate commands show re: reinstall. View this thread

My system is a Windows 7 64-bit Windows Home Premium desktop. I had 16 updates to install and on the 12th, it hung up. It was trying to install an update related to the malicious software tool. It was stuck at 68% complete for hours. I hit the button to cancel the update, but that did nothing. So, I clicked on Start=&gtShutdown and it said installing update 12 of 16 please don't turn off computer. That sat for a couple of hours and got nowhere so I held down the power button to shut it down. That was Thursday. Today I turned on the computer and booted it into Safe mode. It said that the Windows Update had failed and it was reverting. After a few minutes it said was shutting down and it did an restarted this time in regular mode on it's own. Again go the reverting message and then it came up successfully. I am assuming it must have automatically restored my computer to the last restore point. So, far everything seems to be working OK. My question is, how do I proceed from here? How do I go about getting these updates installed? I know that I've read that sometimes this happens because the updates try to load out of sequence and there is a prerequisite update that needs done. Do I try installing one at a time? Should I try installing everything but the malicious software tool update, reboot, then try to install that? View this thread

So I have a bunch of (completely legal) video files that I've collected over the years and I'd like to play them via Xbox Videos in Windows 8. However, I'm finding it hard to figure out how to organize them. If I have a series of TV shows, is there a way to keep them together and organized rather than spread out in alpha order?
