the

|
| Why did you try aioe.org, just as a test?
|
| Did you attempt to use some other server/service, rather than
| internode.on.net [which came through]?

Nope, re-looking at the messages [headers etc.], that doesn't appear to be
the issue...

Your reply to Glen got through just fine, sent Monday evening, your time. I

There was another attempt, the one Franc attempted to post, and I attempted
to post for Franc [cutting and pasting from the alt.test, removing much of
the header {leaving only the references} using my access], which will not
post. The other Franc listed, was attempted at posting by me, NOT in the
original thread but in one presently running [Dan's computer] however, that
ALSO will not post.

There appears to be nothing contained within the message which would cause
the issue, UNLESS it might deal with his posting ORG or otherwise.

I guess I must be grateful all my posts to this thread are posting,
anyhow. I see Zabcar is having trouble. It's happened to me in others
threads, though! I don't see a response from him to you in here-- & yet
he has proven he did so!

| What has apparently escaped many is:
|
| This would be considered as a hack. Be it for advertising, increasing
net
| presence [and yes spiders search for this type of info as well] or
other.
| It would be interesting to see if this was done in the other forums
as
| well. That would potential increase the NET presence for this service
by
| thousands of users *supposedly* using the service. Think potential
| revenue/advertising.

I'm thinking it's just a horrible mistake or someone spilt beer on the
MS server or on computerhelpforums. I haven't seen new duplicates for
two days I think. And I'm still waiting for Otis Campbell to come to for
questioning! That's Brian A.'s drinking buddy!

| | | Not *this* server reset, but another which caused this by
reposting

| | Yep. Looks like these are old posts coming in a 2nd time.
| |
| | | FIND provided these results:
| | |

| |
| | I see 202 that way, but it's also showing replies to posts that
contain
| | that. Odd, I thought there were 100 more than that yesterday. I
guess
| | the reset I did adjusted it somewhat.
| |
| | | Gee, seems an un-reputable [and likely illegal] way to make a
server
| | | *appear* to be the news posting portal of choice by most of the
| | | posters here. Of course this will be reflected on ALL mirrors, so
| | | either this was an honest mistake, or this group and Microsoft
just
| | | got hacked.
| |
| | I don't mind them appending the advertisement-- if only they'll send
it
| | just once! I notice this current post of yours does not contain it.
So--
| | you sent this one here directly? Or can I expect the other to come
in a

| | || | Why am I seeing over 300 duplicated posts in this NG!? It seems
the
| | || | first post in many threads are showing the initial post TWICE.
In
| | || | some case, entire thread segments are duplicated. My
inclination
| | || | is to
| | || reset
| | || | the NG. But I must go now-- no time to even investigate!
| | || |
| | || | The posts are identical, but their Properties are different.
Here
| | || | is
| | || an
| | || | example. Can the posts be coming into this NG (I am connected
| | || | directly to the MS Server) from two different sources? Why do
the
| | || | dates seem to indicate different time zones?

It may take longer than that,,, was there a convention recently???{erp}

The CERT MIGHT explain a bit of the issue, server updates...

| |
|

In that case I'll try my best to hold back Ernest T. from heading over to your

OK, so does that mean there is something in the content that is
causing the message to be discarded? I'll try splitting the message
into two parts and sending the parts separately.

I've used aioe.org in the past as a backup news server whenever I've
had problems posting to the others.

I've having problems with all three news servers (Internode, MS,

That's what makes it even more puzzling.

In fact I tried sending the same problem message on its own in a new

I'm wondering whether there's something in the content that causes it

I think he must be moving to another provider and the DNS records are
either not complete, or not configured.

There was no prior announcement in the local helpdesk group though.
