Hi I have a Windows 7 Ultimate (SP1) x64 desktop PC that I plan to reformat and do a clean reinstallation of Windows 7. I have an original Windows 7 Home Premium full retail DVD box (one of the first that came out) and an original box with a Windows Anytime Upgrade box to go from Windows 7 Home Premium to Ultimate. I understand how to do the first step of a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium. What I would like to know is, from this point, what is the quickest/most efficient way to get to the point that I have a fully updated Windows 7 Ultimate (SP1) x64 again. For example, Does it matter/help whether I do the anytime upgrade immediately then update or vice versa? Should/can I install SP1 immediately thereby cutting out a lot of the update cycles before SP1? My system is: [*]i7 (870) 2.93GHz [*]8GB RAM [*] 240GB SSD SATA3 [*]NVidia GeForce GTS450 1GB DDR5 [*]Asus P7P55D-E Motherboard [*] Internet connection 7MB/s DSL Thanks in advance. Queeg P.S. I am not very computer savvy. From everything I have researched while tring to complete my Windows Updates I I am having issues with my dll files and BITS. I have read all the community posts and have done what I feel comfortable doing. I have tried the system restore but I have no restore points. My computer did not come with Vista disks, but the D Drive has the original windows settings. Can I restore from the D Drive to the C Drive? View this thread

For the last 2 or 3 weeks I have been unable to access a website that I have always visited, usually daily. No clue why I get an immediate message saying &quotserver not found&quot as I can get into everything else. On the last couple days i noticed that my Win8 Mail does not show any of my emails from any of my accounts there. Not sure what is going on or how to fix it. The folder selection panel seems to update, but the email selection does not show anything nor does the email body panel itself any idea how to fix it? My CTRL key no longer works when trying to attach multiple files in gmail. This is a HUGE inconvenience since I send e-mail with several reports attachedl every other day. It was working and only just recently stopped. I used to just hold the control key and click all the files to attach. Now I have to do them one at a time. I have windows 7 on an HP computer. After installing a new hard drive on an ASUS laptop I can't update Windows 7 and get OXC8000247 error when I try to down run the install to validate Windows. I'm trying to install the update KB2753842, however, when I do I get the error code 80073712. This is of course on an installation of Windows 8 Enterprise. Windows 8 has been kicking some new error at me the last few days. its says it has 4 patches and they are from microsoft update online. we are not useing WSUS for now. I just downloaded and installed the automatic windows updates tonight and after I restarted my computer, the language bar that is normally visible on the start screen and the desktop is gone. I know how to switch between languages using left alt + shift but that is not practical and is only necessary now because after updating the option to switch was removed. This is the second time this has happened after downloading the automatic windows updates and is very frustrating. I use two languages on my computer and it seems that updating windows is causing problems with this feature. I cannot see the language bar on the main screen with all my tiles under options where I go to log out or shut off the computer nor on the main desktop. It is, however, there when I log onto my computer and must give my user password, there I see the option to switch but that is the only location. It was there before the update and now it is gone and no matter what I do I cannot seem to restore this feature. On my computer are the language packages for English and German and the main components of my computer are in German. I tried searching for an answer to this problem but cannot find it anywhere. Today I received a Windows Error message stating that my Windows 7 was not genuine, for Christmas I got a new PC Case but wrote down all the OEM Stickers information in various places. When I attempt to re-activate the version of windows I get the error message '0xc004f050'. Are there any solutions to this problem? I am really frustrated right now... My new HP Pavilion g6 laptop starting updating windows 8 this morning around 10 am eastern time. It was stuck at 15% and 16% for long periods of time but eventually got to 30%. After that, the progress disappeared and now I have a blank screen with a cursor and the loading icon spinning on the left of the screen. There is no progress to be seen, but the loading icon is still spinning, and has been spinning for hours. Is this normal? What's going on? View this thread
