I am using windows Vista which is Installed on drive C: (OS) an 80 gig Hard disk in additional I also have drive D: (DATA) a new secondary 320 gig hdd installed. I wish to utilize system more efficiently by saving and storing my files on this drive automatically is it possible to move my user profile from drive c: to drive d: and reserving my primary drive for the OS only View this thread

I am not allowed to get Microsoft support because I have an OEM version of Windows 7 64-bit. The support page simply states to contact the supplier/manufacturer of the PC. I built it myself. Seems a bit odd. Anything I can do about it? I only wanted to point out that their 'sorting' algorithms are incorrect for future builds. View the thread

I understand that Win 8 phones (and tablets) can join an AD domain and be controlled by Group Policy. Hi, I've a client that the start screen of Windows 8 Pro is empty. It just shows the &quotStart&quot word and the user identification. When we try to use find, it always display 0 items for Applications! If we choose to show all applications, the screen still empty. It seams that it has no applications. To be able to go to the Desktop he has to search for something, like Desktop, and then select a definition option like Change Screen Resolution, so it change to the Desktop Window. I've logged in with Administrator user and the start screen looks OK, so it seams to be something just for that user. I've already deleted the profile and loaded it again. It is a rooming profile. It loaded again se same way. So, I think the problema is already saved on the server profile. Well, it loaded with a difference. Before delete it, the user can't even do a search because it showed a message saying something like &quotThe application can't be searched&quot!? At least after load it again the search works for settings and files, but still always result in zero items found in Apps. How can I get the apps back? Regards, Pedro View the full article

Hello. After uprgrading to W8 I find that many of the tiles do not open anything, i.e calendar, people, mail, News, etc. Photos just takes me to a dead (grey) screen. Maps does open ok, and IE opens but the Outlook link does not work within IE, it does however work correctly if IE is opened from Desktop. The Tiles that work my old programmes (Apps) seem to operate properly, although I have not tried every one of them yet. Thank you for any help that can be offered. View this thread

Quoting my previous post: WINDOWS update KB2797687 failure error - 80073718 I have been trying to update my laptop with the above update but consistently get a failure notification. The update downloads and looks as if it is installing but then the error message comes up (code 80073718). I select the option 'get help with this error' which takes me to troubleshooting the updater ( I ran it as administrator). The troubleshooter found an error and repaired it so I tried to update again but yet again got the same error code and the update is still not installed. I have checked my internet connection in case something was interrupted but the connection is fine, I have tried both wifi and Ethernet. I have searched the Microsoft pages but can't find anything about this error. I installed windows 8 as an upgrade to Vista a couple of weeks ago. I still have the problem with installing KB2797687, every day I get the same failure message and my pc hasn't updated since 9.01.13. Yesterday I found a link to the windows download centre and downloaded my updates manually but still the 2797687 wouldn't install. It appears to be preventing any updates to install. I keep going through the same motions, troubleshooting, manually trying to install but nothing works. I shouldn't have to check the updates at the download centre at all. This is getting so frustrating. I know that I am not the only one with this problem judging by the amount of update questions there are. When is Microsoft going to fix it? View this thread

Hello, I have had Windows 8 since slightly before Christmas and have had no problems until a few days ago. I try to get onto some of the windows apps (eg. bing, store, sports, etc.) but it says there is no internet access. If i go to the bing app, it shows I am offline but my internet is perfectly fine. I am using asus pc dual core 2.2 ghz, 4 gb ram intel centrino, by last few months I can use freely my windows 8 without any problems, having maintenance at all. Actually this is a problem on my latest question Unable To Boot Into Dekstop Windows XP SP1 Home Edition After all the installation, and the latest updates after the os installation, i get message, my Windows XP SP3 not genuine i tried to go to microsoft link givin on that resolving the problem thing about genuine and the sites says, it didnt exist anymore xp sp3 genuine validation, I didnt give up, I am tried to searching to finding the genuine_activation on google I registry it on my laptop, Yeah it worked and i can install MSE on my laptop based now XP SP3 Professional At here the bad problem was, it ignored the wireless devices When i rebooting (restart), The WGA and MSE ignored the genuine_activation that i registry before, So i had to registry again, Not only that it seems using that registry making my laptop had a slow performance than usual, I recommended to using Microsoft Security Essentials on the latest help, But i cant, because of not genuine windows product, Please help, i wanna install MSE and running to protect my system, And at least givin my laptop great performance and great protection, Sorry to hoping so much, its because i am already tired with reformatting windows, installing again, I am afraid if MSE didnt installed, my laptop didnt had a good performance, Thanks for reading and any help i will appreciate it. I have Windows 8 64 on a Toshiba C855D-S5320 Laptop that is costing me money every time it updates itself and the updates are locked-out from being removed [ this causes me time and moneyto uninstall every single update and leave no chance of it being reloaded into the system by using the USBback-up with System Restore - which at lease puts everything back to the way I want it "Un-Touched":. 1) I.E. Browser options are set to "no-updates allowed"!. 2) Windows Updates, Programs, Change Settings: No Updates Selected ( not recommended ) [ but necessary ]!. 3) updates somehow turn my settings "off" and over rule "MY SETTINGS" and I'm pissed that this is taking place!. 4) and .. my question is .. .. .. Hi, I was trying to install on Windows 8 the swiss-italian, english-uk and english-us language packs additionally to already installed packages german, swiss-german, swiss-french, spain-spanish and galego. The language packs were successfully downloaded and the installation process started. Hi, I had problem connecting to internet after my windows update.
