Tried to install Chrome. It told me that I needed to run Windows update. Went to the website and tried to run from there. It crashes when I click on install critical and recommended updates. I'm getting Error number: 0x80244030 when I run Update from the Update website. Any ideas? View this thread

I have following strange problem with keyboard and czech national characters: On czech keyboard some characters are writen as &quotcombined&quot - one &quotmodification&quot character followed by letter. Example: ˇ + T = Ť Now my problem is- on keyboard which is set as system default (czech QWERTY) it does not work, it produces: Example: ˇ + T = ˇˇT Well and the confusing part: The problem appears to be only when the keyboard is set as system default. If i select another keyboard as system default, and switch to &quotmy&quot keyboard after start, the &quotmy&quot keyboard works correctly. (But if the keyboard is set as default, switching to another keyboard and back doesnt help). Done all sorts of switching - default keyboard always wrong, secondary always ok. Am using windows 8, english language pack (system language), czech language pack installed. Its tablet PC - but the problem is on touchkeyb as well as on BT keyboard and USB keyboard. Have another machine with precisely the same language and input settings - without this problem (non-touch laptop). Maybe touch keyboard introduces this problem? Any advice appreciated. Hello - My new HP PC with Windows 8 pre-installed is shutting down by itself. The computer was idle when it randomly shutdown. This has happened numerous times now. Hi im mike,my cpu has been taken over by WMC including in safemode,its changed alot of icons.I can right click into most programs properties including wmc but dont kno what the settings should be,also can only get on the internet by right clicking ie &amp choosing a link from my history.my niece caused this by(accidently)clicking on a dll or exe file in wmc then clicking off of it.Now it has administrator rights and i dont,Please Help me,any help!! I have windows 8 wich is upgraded from windows 7. The windows is 64 bit. I must say that before my pc got restarted today I had few days now the screen is flickering from time to time. The internet explorer sometimes on websites get crash or restarted automatic and back to the same site it was on. My video card when im playing battlefield bad company 2 after 10-30 minutes get working very hard and make some noise. Im not sure if the video card get too hot but the problems happened when I wasn't playing. I wasn't near the pc when he restarted just came and saw that windows went up and whne I went in I saw this error message. My video card is NVidia gtx 880 And I have 6gb memory ram. I used both memtest and the windows memory tool when I had windows 7 about a week ago and it didn't find any memory problems. Im not sure where the problem is if the memories or the video card or maybe something else. But the problems aren't from today I had some problems also on windows 7. I just uploaded the only file I have in the windowminidump directory. I've bought a new Samsung All-in-one computer with pre-installed Windows 7 Home Premium. But after a new year eventually the system started showing error: Windows 7 build 7601, this copy of windows is not genuine'. What to do? Vista: all updates download and all updates fail installation and configuration. Ran Fix It, checked firewalls, nothing works. In the last week I have spent close to 20 hours on this, downloaded many gigs of data, hundreds of updates which have all failed. Each update failure has a different error code, so it's all but impossible to invest who knows how many hours researching each individual failure. This is my sister's laptop that I "volunteered" to help with, and as far as I can tell there has been only a few updates that actually installed successfully since she bought it just about 3 years ago. Win8 Pro system whereby Device Manager (DM) hangs after invoking a scan for new hardware. The scan never completes and I cannot close Device Manager except by force via Task Manager. This system was in-place upgraded from Win7-Win8 a couple of days ago and after the Win8 desktop first came up I checked Device Manager and was able to perform the scan. The missing/incorrect driver I had to deal with was for my wireless device. Windows Update did not install a driver for it when invoked via the drivers tab on the device object. After downloading the latest driver from Acer for this laptop I attempted to install it however, that didn't go so smooth. The installer hung at the very end and so nothing actually completed. I had to shut down/restart the system and now am in the state whereby the Device Manager now hangs too. Ideas? ...while I'm waiting for replies I'm going to try a System Restore point if any exists and see if I can get back to where at least the DM can scan for new hardware. As indicated I hace fixed on my screen a little window which name is " User Account Control " - Program name : " File-remover (Spybot - Search &amp Destroy) - File Origin : Hard drive on this computer.It has little box " Yes " and other " No ".Clicking on Yes it appears again and again, clicking on No, it doesn't disappear or close. I have it ours and ours, nevertheless I closed computer and started again, it appears there. How can I remove it. Installed Windows 7 64 bit. program files show up as (x68 program),M.S. said it should show x64 for program files. Everything worked fine till M.S. Windows up date started updates for Explorer 9. When these updates started the sucurity system stopped working,after deleting and reinstalling it about 10 times I deleted the norton system from PC. The PC was working at about 90% till windows update put about 8 32 bit updates and then tried to download new 64 bit service pack update. I was playing WoW on my windows 8 computer. The computer crashed and when it rebooted a screen flashed that said your computer has ran into a problem and needs to reboot. upon rebooting it comes up &quotPreparing Automatic Repair&quot. It sits there for a while and I guess it fails because it reboots and flashes the computer ran into a problem screen again and repeats. I have tried getting the PC into safe mode it doesnt come up. I do not have a windows 8 install DVD to boot to. I downloaded an upgrade from vista to windows 8 from microsoft to get windows 8 on my computer. Is there anything I can do to get this fixed?
