I'm trying to delete any unnecessary programs that are on my computer and I may no longer need. &quotAdd/Remove programs&quot shows the following and I don't know if I need to keep them all. All 4 start with the same prefix: MSXL 4.0 SP2. But each shows a different &quotKB&quot #: 927978, 936181, 954430 &amp 973688. What do I need to do in this situation and possibly when any updates are installed of any kind, not just these &quotMSXL&quot updates? Do I EVER delete the prior ones? This is the message I get when trying to download updates from Windows. Windows Update recognizes that there are updates available and that my system is not up to date but when I try to download those update I get these error codes. I've tried using the Systems and Security "Fix the problems with Windows Update" which finds issues and says they're repaired but with no different end result. Anyone have any suggestions? Everytime I try to check Windows Update through the Control Panel it will crash and make me restart it from Task Manager, nothing but TM will fix it. Also nothing I download that needs installing will, it does not give me an option to 'Run'. How will a fresh installation of Windows 8 react to an existing storage space? Hi, I had problem with my laptop. The laptop won't connect to my home network. I found the wireless network but when I hit enter after entered the password (correct), suddenly a pop up come that said 'Windows was unable connect to the network". The laptop connects well with portable hotspot in my phone (3G Tethering). But my phone (Samsung Galaxy Pocket) connects fine to the home network. My specs: Acer Aspire 4250 running Windows 7 SP1. I'm having a problem after an automatic update installed this morning, and none of the solutions I've found are working and/or possible. I purchased Windows 8 as an upgrade download version on a PC previously running Windows 7, so I don't have a physical boot disk. It had been running fine right up until an update installed this morning. It is now stuck in an endless repair/reboot cycle. When I try to restore to an earlier point, it does not let me select C-drive because apparently system protection is not enabled (news to me, I'd never disabled it). The refresh system option produces the same reboot-repair cycle, as does trying to boot in safe mode or the repair automatically function. This is incredibly frustrating, starting to wish I'd stuck with Windows 7. View this thread

I purchased the Win 7 X15-65733 product and using a new 8GB USB memory stick and followed the instructions to create a bootable ISO. The stick formatted and the program transferred until 100% when the progress bar turned red. It said something like data transferred but not able to get bootfile so ISO not bootable. I clicked Start Again and the stick formatted again but it said We are unable to copy your files, check your USB and ISO files and try again. The same unable to copy files report recurred.
